Market Maker Program
Trade8 supports automated quoting, hedging, and inventory management across perpetual exchanges. The market maker program adds a review of connectivity, request limits, collateral arrangements, and commercial terms for the firm’s workload.
Execution and Risk Controls
Section titled “Execution and Risk Controls”| Need | Trade8 Workflow |
|---|---|
| Quote on a specific exchange | Exchange-directed orders with the contract and settlement asset specified |
| Rest as a maker | Post-only instructions; handle POST_ONLY_WOULD_TAKE when the book moves |
| Hedge inventory | Read positions by exchange, use reduce-only exits where appropriate, and reconcile fills |
| Update many quotes | Batch requests with a client order ID for every item; inspect each result |
| Stop after a connection failure | Configure the documented dead-man switch and monitor its expiry |
| Separate strategies | Use account grants, subaccounts, and strategy-specific keys |
See Market-Making Workflows for batch, cancellation, and dead-man-switch examples. Account Limits supplies the account’s current request and batch budgets.
Request a Connectivity Review
Section titled “Request a Connectivity Review”Provide the following details:
| Area | Include |
|---|---|
| Markets | Exchanges, instruments, and settlement assets |
| Deployment | Hosting regions, facilities, outbound IPs, and failover locations |
| Traffic | Peak order, amendment, and cancellation rates; quote update frequency; subscription count |
| Latency | Median and tail request latency, acknowledgement latency, and the target you need |
| Recovery | Reconnect behavior, stale-data cutoff, independent stop control, and reconciliation process |
| Capital | Expected collateral, custody provider, exchange allocations, and inventory limits |
Co-location places infrastructure in the exchange’s facility; proximity hosting places it nearby. Dedicated connectivity, region, and exchange endpoint determine the path available to your strategy. Measure fills separately from request acknowledgements.
Business Review and Operating Rules
Section titled “Business Review and Operating Rules”Submit the firm’s registration, ownership structure, authorized operators, and source-of-funds evidence through Account Verification.
Keep pre-trade limits, stale-data checks, and an independent stop mechanism in the strategy. Monitor margin by exchange; a hedge elsewhere may leave one account short of collateral. Handle partial fills, cancellation races, and rejected amendments before adding replacement exposure.
Self-trading, wash trading, spoofing, manipulation, and bypassing exchange controls are prohibited.
Fees and Application
Section titled “Fees and Application”The agreement sets maker and taker fees, rebates, Trade8 charges, connectivity charges, volume commitments, and operating limits. Compare these costs with the strategy’s expected fill mix and turnover.
